This campground for self-sufficient campers only has excellent views over Innisfail and the undulating Atherton Tableland. The site is 4 km north-west of Big Rock camp and 7 km from the Josephine Falls parking area. Make sure you check weather conditions with the ranger before undertaking the Bartle Frere Trail, as clouds can move in quickly on the upper reaches of the mountain and rainstorms are common all year. The dry season, May–Oct, is the best time to walk the trail.
