Flinders Island camping area (boat-based camping)

This is the only island in the group that permits camping. Bring all self-sufficient supplies; the water available here needs to be boiled or treated before use. The site is on the northern side of Flinders Island at Fredrick Point, accessible by private boat only. Respect cultural sites.

This campsite is located in Flinders Group National Park

Located 340 km north of Cairns, the remote islands of the Flinders Group National Park are part of the sea country of the Yiithuwarra ‘saltwater people’, and have important Indigenous sites. The group is east of the Cape York Peninsula between Cape Melville and Princess Charlotte Bay, accessible by private boat. Advance bookings are required for camping.
