Kalpowar Crossing Campground
Campsite
Lakefield’s most popular camping ground with the best facilities, Kalpowar is 3 km east of the Lakefield ranger station, next to an 8 km stretch of permanent fresh waterholes on the Normanby River. Accessed by 4WD only, there are 14 numbered sites for general use and 4 numbered sites set aside for commercial operators. Wildlife watchers can explore the 4 km walking track and boaties can launch their craft from the causeway. Note: large crocodiles are in the waterways. GPS S:14 54.686 E:144 12.657
