This campsite is located in Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve
About 280 km north-west of Cairns, Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve was the site of a major gold rush from 1873. The goldfields have been inactive since the 1880s, but today visitors can view the old sites and reminders of the gold rush. Take the Whites Creek turn-off to Granite and Cannibal creeks from the Peninsula Developmental Rd, then turn north to Dog Leg Creek Junction south-east of Maytown.
