Cullen Point camping area
Campsite
Self-sufficient campers can stay at Cullen Point, 10 km north of Mapoon and 95 km north of Weipa, with access via Mapoon Rd. Weipa is at the northern end of the unsealed (4WD only) Peninsula Developmental Rd, about 200 km north-west of the Archer River Roadhouse. The township is on the eastern shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria, known for its excellent fishing, sailing and boating. Note: you need a camping and vehicle permit.
