This campsite is located in Barakula State Forest

Expect to see logging trucks on the access roads at Barakula, as this forest is a major supplier of cypress pine. Despite the presence of industry, the forest (about 45 km north of Chinchilla) is known for providing good fishing opportunities after rains, and there’s plenty on display for wildlife watchers. Go west on the Warrego Hwy from Chinchilla, then take Auburn Rd north to Barakula. Advance bookings are required for all camping.
