Kelly’s Beach Resort
The accommodation here is villa-style and self-contained, but the charm lies in the resort’s gardens, two pools, tennis court, sauna and spa, and the fact it’s only one block, a short walk, to the beach. Bikes and snorkels are available for hire and you can easily cycle around this relatively flat area where there is very little traffic. It’s a good place to try snorkelling for the first time, as the beaches here are protected by the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef and are usually quite calm. There’s a kiosk as well as a licensed restaurant, and a kids area as well as a Kids’ Club in school holidays.
