Boasting towering white sandstone cliffs, breathtaking side gorges and some of the finest Aboriginal rock art in Australia, this 160-million-year-old natural wonder is the region’s most popular tourist attraction. The Mt Moffat section of the park features grassy woodlands and magnificent sandstone outcrops. Further west, the isolated and unspoiled Ka Ka Mundi and Salvator Rosa sections of the park offer wildlife-watching and bush camping areas. Bookings are required in advance for all sites except Bunbuncundoo Springs and Nogoa River.
