Self-sufficient campers with 4WD vehicles can access this grassy clearing in the Robinson Gorge section of Expedition, 4 km south-east of Robinson Gorge Lookout (dry-weather access only). There are approximately 8 campsites suitable for walk-in camping, high-clearance camper trailers, or camping beside your car. No generators are permitted. Tank water is provided (it must be treated or boiled before use) but supply is unreliable, so bring your own water.

This campsite is located in Expedition National Park

Part of the Central Qld Sandstone Belt, Expedition National Park’s eucalypt and gum forests are about 130 km west of Taroom. There are 3 main sections: Robinson Gorge, Lonesome and Beilba. Stencil art indicates that Aboriginal people have lived in the area for thousands of years. Signposted access to Robinson Gorge is 18 km north of Taroom from the Leichhardt Hwy; both Lonesome and Beilba sections are accessed via Carnarvon Developmental Rd north of Injune.
