This campground beside Crane Creek has plenty of grassy sites for camping beside your car, and also accommodates those with caravans and trailers. To get here from Monto, travel 37 km north-east on the Monto–Gladstone Rd and take the gravel road turn-off. You need to be self-sufficient, preferably with a gas/fuel stove, and bring your own firewood. The water here must be treated or boiled before use.

This campsite is located in Kalpowar State Forest

More than 150 plant species exist amongst rainforest, eucalypt forest and hoop pine plantations in Kalpowar State Forest, 38 km north-east of Monto. The 20 km Kalpowar Forest Drive is a good way to get around and see the forest. The forest is reached by Fireclay Rd or the Kalpowar–Gin Gin Rd, both off the Monto–Gladstone Rd. Advance bookings are required for camping.
