This site for self-sufficient campers is on the western boundary of the national park. As the name suggests, sandflies and mosquitoes are a major problem here, so bring repellent and wear appropriate clothing. The boat ramp and creek nearby are suitable for small vessels and fishing. Bring water, firewood and a gas/fuel stove.

This campsite is located in Rundle Range National Park

Approximately 40 km north-west of Gladstone, Rundle Range National Park protects areas of dry rainforest and open forests, with more than 280 plant species recorded. The park is about 60 km south-east of Rockhampton. Access is off the Bruce Hwy at Ambrose by 4WD in dry weather only.
