Fraser Island Great Walk
Hiking and walking
Fraser Island has plenty of short walks, plus this 90‑kilometre trek taking six to eight days. From Dilli Village, the track moves inland from one perched lake to another, including tea-brown Lake Boomanjin, turquoise Lake McKenzie, and green and deep Lake Wabby, which is slowly being engulfed by a sand blow. It passes through scribbly gum woodland and lush rainforest, and campers can spend one night in the Valley of the Giants. The trail finishes at Happy Valley.
