If you’ve never accessed a campsite via canoe, here’s your chance. Set on a creek, Hedleys also has road access through a private property (fees apply, and the road is suitable for conventional vehicles only in dry weather). It’s 3.4 km south of Tinnanbar Rd, signed 11.7 km east of Maryborough–Cooloola Rd on Tinnanbar Rd. Bring drinking water and untreated firewood, or a gas/fuel stove.

This campsite is located in Tuan State Forest

Around a 20 min drive south-east of Maryborough, the Tuan forest conserves a large range of plant species and is home to diverse wildlife. Visitors can go canoeing along the creeks, enjoy the flower displays in late winter and spring, and stay in one of the campgrounds with water frontage. The entrance to the forest is off Tinnanbar Rd, reached from Maryborough–Cooloola Rd. Bookings are required in advance for campsites.
