This very basic clearing for self-sufficient campers can be accessed by entering Tuan State Forest from Cooloola Coast Rd. Campers must bring their own untreated wood for campfires, as gathering wood in the forest is not permitted. Use the fire rings provided and bring in water. Note: this campsite currently operates on a self-registration basis, but will be incorporated with NPRSR’s online booking system in future; check NPRSR’s webpage for Tuan State Forest before embarking.

This campsite is located in Tuan State Forest

Around a 20 min drive south-east of Maryborough, the Tuan forest conserves a large range of plant species and is home to diverse wildlife. Visitors can go canoeing along the creeks, enjoy the flower displays in late winter and spring, and stay in one of the campgrounds with water frontage. The entrance to the forest is off Tinnanbar Rd, reached from Maryborough–Cooloola Rd. Bookings are required in advance for campsites.
