Close to O’Reillys Rainforest Resort, this hillside campground in forest surrounds has designated campsites on terraces on the slope and a separate area designated for those doing the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk. It is suitable for walk-in camping, camping beside your car, and campervans, but not for caravans or camper trailers. The nearby day-use area contains BBQs, picnic facilities and wheelchair-accessible toilets. A public phone is available past O’Reillys reception office. You’ll find the campground at the end of the 36 km narrow and winding Lamington National Park Rd (depart from Canungra), just 200 m from the information centre outside O’Reillys. Bookings are essential for weekends and peak periods. Tap water must be boiled or treated before drinking.
