Lamington National Park
Hiking and walking
There are a number of great walks in Lamington National Park. From O’Reilly’s Rainforest Guesthouse, short walks include the Tree Top Walk over nine suspension bridges, and the 2.4‑kilometre-return Wishing Tree and Mick’s Tower walk, leading to an 18‑metre observation tower. From Binna Burra Mountain Lodge, the 5‑kilometre Tullwallal Circuit passes through cool subtropical rainforest with a stand of ancient Antarctic beech. Those after a real challenge can set out on the 21‑kilometre trail that links the two guesthouses, enjoying some of the most fertile forests in Australia. Watch and listen for the scrub turkey and Albert’s lyrebird.
