A 1 min walk from the water’s edge of Maroon Dam, Pointro is a mown site with plenty of clear spaces and a few gum trees if you prefer shade. The dam is popular for fishing and watersports. You’ll need to bring drinking water (or treat/boil the on-site water) and stock up on supplies at the stores in Boonah or Rathdowney, but firewood can be obtained on site. The campground is on Burnett Creek Rd, 28.5 km south of Boonah. Bookings are advised during peak periods.
