Hunters Gorge camping area
The turn-off to this campground is 10 km along the Boulia–Springvale Rd from the Diamantina National Park HQ. A further 4 km along is the Mundewerra Waterhole, a channel of the Diamantina River. A pit toilet and self-registration station are the only facilities. This is a great spot for fishing, canoeing and birdwatching. Bring your own drinking water and a gas/fuel stove.

This campsite is located in Diamantina National Park
Shaped by sandstone ranges, grass plains, waterholes and wetlands, this 500 000 ha national park lies about 300 km south-west of Winton. The scenic Warracoota Circuit drive (around 150 km) takes in historic sites and birdwatching and fishing hot spots. Travel via the Kennedy Developmental Rd if you’re coming from the north; from the south, take the Diamantina Developmental Rd.
