Accessible only by boat or walking at low tide from Corio Bay carpark, this small campground on the northern side of Corio Bay has room for just 20 campers and no facilities. It’s suitable for self-sufficient campers only; small generators (65 dBA or quieter) are permitted between 8am and 7pm. Note: if you’re walking along the beach, it takes about 2 hrs to reach the campground.

This campsite is located in Byfield National Park

Known for its massive sand dunes that stretch up to 6 km inland, Byfield National Park protects 15 000 ha of scenic and diverse landscapes. It is about 70 km north-east of Rockhampton and 43 km north of Yeppoon. Experienced bushwalkers have a range of signed trails to explore, and fishing enthusiasts can throw a line in at Nine Mile Beach, Water Park Point or at the end of Sandy Point Rd. Advance bookings are required for camping.
