Water Park Creek has 14 secluded walk-in campsites close to the Bowenia rainforest bushwalking circuit (1.2 km return, 2 hrs). Swimming is not permitted here. The campground is 4 km from the turn-off signed on Byfield Rd, and a short walk from the carpark area. Small generators (65 dBA or quieter) are permitted between 8am and 7pm. Bring your own firewood as well as a gas/fuel stove. The water should be boiled or treated before use. The nearest shop is in Byfield township, 2 km north of the turn-off to Water Park Creek.

This campsite is located in Byfield State Forest

Go bushwalking through magnificent rainforests, view rare wildlife or have a relaxing picnic by the creek – Byfield State Forest offers a beautiful natural setting for a range of recreational activities. About 34 km north of Yeppoon, the forest has scenic easy-to-moderate walking tracks, some good spots for fishing, and excellent day-use areas. Note: swimming is not permitted in some areas, as estuarine crocodiles have been seen in Water Park Creek. Advance bookings are required for camping.
