Cape Creek is to the south-west of Cape Palmerston. For self-sufficient campers, it is accessible by 4WD only via a sandy track. Fires are permitted if you bring your own raised fire container/brazier – bring your own wood; gas/fuel stoves are recommended.

This campsite is located in Cape Palmerston National Park

The rocky headlands, rainforests and sand dunes of Cape Palmerston National Park lie 115 km south-east of Mackay. There are 3 bush campgrounds in the park, some great spots for fishing, and you can walk to Cape Palmerston for beautiful views of Northumberland Isles and Mt Funnel. Access is by 4WD only via Cape Palmerston Rd, off Greenhill Rd from Ilbilbie, on the Bruce Hwy. Advance bookings are required for camping.
