This basic site for self-sufficient campers is south of Cape Palmerston on the eastern edge of the park. Access is by 4WD only via a sandy track. Fires are permitted in raised fire containers/braziers  – bring your own wood – but gas/fuel stoves are preferred.

This campsite is located in Cape Palmerston National Park

The rocky headlands, rainforests and sand dunes of Cape Palmerston National Park lie 115 km south-east of Mackay. There are 3 bush campgrounds in the park, some great spots for fishing, and you can walk to Cape Palmerston for beautiful views of Northumberland Isles and Mt Funnel. Access is by 4WD only via Cape Palmerston Rd, off Greenhill Rd from Ilbilbie, on the Bruce Hwy. Advance bookings are required for camping.
