This camping area is next to Pandanus Creek at Jaxut, about 200 m past the old forest station. Access is via the Cathu–O’Connell River Rd, a very steep road suitable for small caravans and camper trailers only. Campers should bring firewood and water. Cathu State Forest is known as a particularly good location for birdwatching, with more than 100 species inhabiting the area.
