Hikers on the Whitsunday Great Walk can camp at this site, 11.5 km (5–6 hrs) from Repulse Creek camp and 8.5 km from the end of the walk at Airlie Beach. The track from Repulse Creek follows a ridge to the summit of Mt Hayward and continues to Bloodwood Camp, with picturesque views beyond Jubilee Pocket to the Whitsunday islands. Bring a gas/fuel stove.

The Whitsunday Great Walk is a challenging 30 km, 3 day, 1 way walk for experienced hikers and campers. For inexperienced hikers, there are shorter walks that link to the main track. The track begins 11 km south-west of Airlie Beach and 16.5 km north-west of Proserpine.
