Wombat caretaker - near Emerald
You can have the priceless task of caring for the only remaining population of northern hairy-nosed wombat – one of the most rare large mammals in the world – by becoming a caretaker at Epping Forest National Park (Scientific). For a month, you will check the feed and water stations and the feralproof fence, and contribute to the ongoing conservation of the creature’s remnant habitat with feeding programs. Accommodation in your own homestead is provided free of charge. Call ranger Andrew Dinwoodie. The park is located north-west of Emerald.
