This campsite, on the north of the island, is a 100 m walk away from South Macushla, and has less well-developed facilities. It can only be accessed by boat. Bring drinking water, rubbish bags and a gas/fuel stove.

This campsite is located in Hinchinbrook Island National Park

A tropical island with stunning postcard-perfect scenery, Hinchinbrook is Australia’s largest island national park. Off the north Qld coast, 8 km east of Cardwell, Hinchinbrook is home to sweeping sandy beaches, rainforests and rugged mountains, dugongs, green turtles and other marine life. For hikers, one of the main attractions is the 32 km (3–5 day) Thorsborne Trail on the island’s east coast. Advance bookings are required for camping.
