North and South Macushla camping areas are just 100 m apart in the north of the island, on the east coast of Missionary Bay, and are accessed by boat. A maximum 7-night stay applies here. Bring drinking water and a gas/fuel stove.

This campsite is located in Hinchinbrook Island National Park

A tropical island with stunning postcard-perfect scenery, Hinchinbrook is Australia’s largest island national park. Off the north Qld coast, 8 km east of Cardwell, Hinchinbrook is home to sweeping sandy beaches, rainforests and rugged mountains, dugongs, green turtles and other marine life. For hikers, one of the main attractions is the 32 km (3–5 day) Thorsborne Trail on the island’s east coast. Advance bookings are required for camping.
