Camping is permitted on the island’s south-east coast, where you’ll find a gas barbecue and a few other basic facilities such as picnic tables and a shelter shed. There’s excellent wildlife watching on the island – try spotlighting for possums at night. Note: insect repellent is a must for Rabbit Island. Beware of marine stingers and estuarine crocodiles.
