Joe’s Beach camping area
Campsite
The reef off Joe’s Beach is ideal for snorkelling and there are superb views of other nearby islands. The campground has space for 12 campers; generators and open fires are not permitted. Whitsunday Island has 2 excellent walking trails well worth exploring. The Tongue Point track (400 m, 15 min) leads to a beautiful view of Whitehaven Beach, and the Dugong Beach to Sawmill Beach track (1.5 km, 45 min) features gorgeous bay outlooks. If boating in the region, remember to go slow, report marine strandings, don’t collect coral or shells and check fishing permissions.
