South Australian Aviation Museum
You can climb aboard a 1940s Douglas Dakota RAAF VIP plane, take the controls in the cockpit of a 6-seater Aero Commander 608, board a navy helicopter and test your coordination in a RAAF Air Crew Recruitment tester used from 1950 to 1990. However, this is largely a museum for serious aircraft enthusiasts, and you’ll have to make sure your kids don’t climb on fragile historic timber planes.
