For some years the green belt around Adelaide was more paddock than parkland, but a town clerk named William Veale started beautifying the gardens in the mid-1900s. Veale Gardens were his pièce de résistance. City.

This park follows the curves of the Torrens all the way from West Beach to Paradise, and is great for bike riding. The sections near the city offer fantastic views, while further out the track runs through a thick corridor of bushland.
