Glenelg Beach - Adelaide

Adelaide’s best-known beach is Glenelg, a long, sandy strip with a jetty leading into Holdfast Bay. South Australia was officially claimed a province here in 1836 and the seaside suburb has been at the heart of Adelaide’s beach life ever since. The city’s only trams bring beachgoers to Glenelg from Victoria Square in the CBD. The beach has plenty of action outside the water, with cafes and restaurants lining busy Jetty Road; a sleek marina with more restaurants and boutique shopping; and parks along the foreshore for laidback picnics.
