This campsite is located in Mount Crawford Forest
This sprawl of forest reserve an hour’s drive north-east of Adelaide is a favourite escape for walkers, mountain-bikers and horseriders. Both the Heysen and Mawson trails weave through these forests and there are numerous camping locations to choose from, including more secluded hideaways. As well as the reserve’s natural assets, it’s also on the doorstep of the famed wine regions of the Eden and Barossa valleys. If you’re horseriding, you’ll need a permit, and there is now a camp that caters for horses at Starkeys Reserve.
