A brilliant beachside location close to Elliston, Walkers Rocks offers great fishing and safe swimming, with the occasional surf break too. Assorted sites are set among the dunes, some with shade. At low tide, experienced four-wheel drivers can explore the long strip of beach extending north, for salmon fishing. Access is signposted off Walkers Rocks Rd, 8 km north of Elliston via Flinders Hwy. Pick up a permit from the self-registration station. Gas BBQs are allowed. The park may be closed during days of extreme fire danger.

This campsite is located in Lake Newland Conservation Park

Lake Newland Conservation Park has natural salt lakes and freshwater springs that extend for 20 km; it is the largest wetland on the Eyre Peninsula. The park is home to various waterfowl and wading birds: birdwatchers should come prepared with binoculars. Fishing is permitted, so anglers should pack their rods. You need a 4WD to reach the lake itself, but Walkers Rocks camping area is accessible with a 2WD.
