Magnificent arid highlands in the far north of the Flinders Ranges are home to a special wilderness sanctuary, famous for its striking peaks and gorges. A geological marvel, Arkaroola is ideal for bushwalking, photography and 4WD exploring. As well as motel accommodation and caravan park sites, there is bush camping along Wywhyana Creek. Located 129 km north-east of Copley, the campground is 30 km north of Balcanoona along the Arkaroola–Balcanoona Rd. Check road conditions before travelling and come equipped for self-sufficient camping.
