Self-sufficient camping is available on the eastern slopes of the Trezona Range, from where walking trails loop back through historic grazing country to Aroona Valley. The site is just off the Brachina Gorge Rd, 48 km north of the visitor centre.

With astonishing Wilpena Pound as its centrepiece, this park packs tremendous visual punch. There’s so much landscape laid bare that even taking a drive or relaxing in camp can be a captivating experience. Take to the Heysen Trail or jump on a mountain bike and an even richer story is revealed – a world of hidden waterholes, spring wildflowers, Aboriginal rock-art sites, abundant wildlife and geological grandeur.
