Googs Lake camping area (bush camping)
One of 2 camping areas on the 4WD Googs Track. It might be salt but this remote lake feels like an oasis in a sea of dunes. There’s a surprising mix of vegetation and terrain to explore, plus some welcome shade. The lakes are 76.6 km north of the Eyre Hwy. A permit and all self-sufficient equipment are required.

This campsite is located in Yumbarra Conservation Park
Red dune ridges in this park are traversed by the Googs Track, accessible to 4WDs only. Although the landscape may appear inhospitable, it contains a number of rockholes – including Childara Rock – that fill with rainwater and thus sustain many species of birds, making Yumbarra popular with birdwatchers.
