This campsite is located in Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park
This vast chunk of coastal heath, dune hollows and mallee is mostly untracked wilderness. Coastal headlands and beaches overlook D’Estrees Bay, while experienced bushwalkers occasionally trek to the cape itself. Nearby Murray Lagoon is the island’s largest freshwater enclosure and a great place to spot birds, while Seal Bay Conservation Park is a world-famous haven for Australian sea lions. Get your permits from the Murray Lagoon ranger station.
