Off the beaten track, Koolunga is a quiet farming town north of Clare. It’s a handy overnight stop for north-bound travellers, and as the site’s name suggests, the town is also renowned for historic sightings of the mythical bunyip. The park is on the southern edge of town, 200 m along the Yacka Rd. You need to be self-sufficient, with water, firewood and preferably a gas/fuel stove.
