Skillogalee Winery Restaurant
Skillogalee was a trailblazer for winery dining, and it’s still a treat to spend a languid afternoon on the verandah of this endearing 1850s cottage, revelling in the estate’s fine wines and stylish country food. The menu changes seasonally but there has always been a commitment to local-produce dishes like their rack of Burra lamb with herb crust and unctuous shiraz glaze. A perennial favourite is the ‘vine pruner’s lunch’, an up-market ploughman’s, while popular desserts include a rich whisky chocolate cake and honey-pistachio nut ice-cream.
