There are 5 separate sites for self-sufficient campers (gas/fuel stove only) located within the reserve, 64 km north of Waikerie. The reserve is accessed from Lunn Rd off Morgan–Renmark Rd.

An expansive and much-loved sanctuary managed by Birds Australia, Gluepot Reserve occupies 50 000 ha of pristine mallee scrub. Home to some 197 bird species – including 6 that are nationally endangered – this must-see destination is surprisingly accessible, just 1.5 hr north of Waikerie. Facilities include a visitor information centre, campgrounds, birdhides, driving and walking tracks. Guided tours are also available. Note: in times of extreme heat, fire danger or heavy rains the reserve may be closed; check with rangers.
