Bush camping (permit required) is allowed in the northern corner of the park, with vehicle access off Karte Rd, 30 km north-west of Pinnaroo. It is popular with mallee-fowl watchers.

This campsite is located in Karte Conservation Park

This rolling dune landscape clad in mallee scrub and native pines, with a dense understorey of broom bush, is home to a diverse mix of wildlife, from western grey kangaroos and echidnas to mallee fowl and the endangered mallee whipbird. This is one of the more accessible mallee parks, popular for picnics and day walks among the steep dunes. It’s 30 km north-west of Pinnaroo.
