Remote cliff-top camping is possible at the end of Wurlie Rd, 13 km south-west of Corny Point. There are craggy headlands to explore and wave action on the 2 rocky islets offshore.

At this broad array of coastal camping spots looked after by Yorke Peninsula’s local council, there’s a terrific selection of sites on all points of the compass. While they have few, if any, facilities, the bush locations are usually close to beach views and fishing spots – as well as being quiet and secluded. You need to be pretty self-sufficient, bringing your own firewood and water. You also need a permit (from the council office, or on sale in many local shops).
