This sheltered site sits on the bank beside the Douglas River, with the Heritage and Leeaberra waterfalls nearby. Campers need to be completely self-sufficient and carry a gas/fuel stove; no fires may be lit Oct–Apr. River water should be boiled or treated before drinking. The trailhead is accessed from the Tasman Hwy (A3), turning inland at the sign onto the unsealed Thompsons Marshes Rd (E road) 26 km north of Bicheno, between Seymour and Piccaninny Point. After 5 km turn left into the park. The last 2 km is rough, steep and requires a 4WD. The camping area is a 2 hr walk from the trailhead.
