Leeaberra Track (walk-in camping)
Campsite
This moderate-grade 28 km walk to waterfalls, lookouts and gorges is named from the Aboriginal word for Douglas River. There is walk-in camping at Heritage Falls, 2 hours from the trackhead, and at Tevelein Falls on the southern side of the Douglas River crossing. To access the track, turn inland from the Tasman Hwy A3 onto the Forestry E road at Stonyford Creek, then follow the signs along a rough unsealed road. Two cars are needed as the walk should be north to south to avoid spreading plant root rot fungus on your boots and tent pegs. This is a fuel-stove-only area Oct–Apr.
