Back in the 1880s this lake was created for Campbell Town’s water supply. Today it’s a premium trout water, regularly stocked with brook and rainbow trout, and said to offer some of Tasmania’s best early- and late-season wet fly-fishing. There’s a small camping area between the boat ramp and the dam wall, and you’ll need to be self-sufficient with your own firewood and drinking water. Turn north off the B34, 34 km east of Campbell Town, or 30 km west of the Tasman Hwy A3. Drive 4 km along an unsealed access road to the boat ramp.
