The Old Headmasters House

Although not usually known for their good taste and style, this particular headmaster must have been an exception to the rule. His grand turn-of-the-century home now offers luxury B&B accommodation in three gracious double bedrooms furnished with beautiful antiques, especially the Georgian room with its four-poster bed. Their full country breakfasts are legendary – there’s home-cured bacon, free-range eggs, field mushrooms, bratwurst sausage, locally grown fruits with lashings of creamy yoghurt, or just tea and toast drizzled with local bush honey. After that you’ll be up for a walk, so go for a wander through the home’s beautiful rose garden or stroll to St Helens town centre and marina.
