Addlestone House B&B
St Marys has a scattering of lovely 100-year-old weatherboard houses that provide a hint of the town’s past life as an important coalmining centre. Although it too is a century old, Addlestone B&B is unremarkable outside, but inside it has a graceful and elegant air with plush Queen Ann furniture as well as modern facilities like ducted heating and computer access. The two ensuite queen rooms are lovely, with high ceilings and their own sunrooms. Addlestone’s welcome might include a nip of port or sherry, a cup of tea or coffee with fresh-baked goodies from the kitchen, while in the morning they serve a fabulous cooked breakfast so there’s absolutely no danger of leaving feeling hungry.
