Ristorante da Angelo
If you can get a table at Hobart’s busiest Italian restaurant you can afford a smug grin. Bustling cheery ambience, smiling attentive service, homemade gnocchi and Angelo and Marco’s excellent fresh, simple sauces make this as close to southern Italy as you can get in Tasmania. Try the pasta with bold chilli-tomato puttanesca sauce or a luscious pizza. There’s also veal cooked to perfection with a creamy brandy or lemon sauce. Tiramisu, coffee and a grappa or three will send you out into the night warmed and satisfied. Bookings are a must.
