Tasmanians claim that ‘even novices can catch trout in Arthurs Lake’. This probably explains why this waterway is Tasmania’s most popular trout fishery, hosting more anglers than any other water in the state.
Arthurs Lake is a brown trout fishery and all methods are employed. Every year, it’s reported trout in excess of 4 kg and up to 7.5 kg have been caught here. Numerous boat ramps are available and camping areas are located at Pumphouse Bay and Jonah Bay.
